Galdor is a word used to describe chantings or repeated sayings or phrases meant to "fix" something, find something, heal someone, etc...They are "magic" phrases used by Anglo-Saxons. An example of a galdor for finding lost cattle is posted below. I found the site from which it was procured very interesting (http://www.ealdriht.org/galdor.html). I don't have access to any lost cattle at this point in time, so I cannot vouch for its utility, however, I found it to be a "good case in point" and would hope not to be the one who tooketh of the cattle.
(The original Old English version was not posted there)
Garmund, servant of God,
Find me those cattle,
and fetch me those cattle,
And have those cattle,
and hold those cattle,
And bring those cattle home,
So he never has land where he can lead them,
Nor ground to bring them to,
Nor house to keep them in.
If one do this deed, let it never avail him!
Within three nights I will know his might,
His might and his main,
and his protective crafts.
May he wither entirely,
like wood withered by fire,
Be as brittle as a thistle,
He who thinks to thieve these cattle
Or to carry off theses cows.Amen.(translation by Gavin Chappell)

You should also check out Kim's site. She has a spell for returning lost cattle, too, but it's very different.
The information about a "Galdor" is new to me. Good find.
